Level 1 deliberately does not cover prediction. It builds the framework — grahas, nakshatras, panchanga, ayanamsha — that everything else stands on.

Syllabus
Jyotish as the eye of the Veda, not a fortune-telling parlour trick. The karmic model it rests on, the role of parampara, and what the discipline refuses to answer.
Why they are grahas — those that seize — and not planets. The devata behind each one, Brihaspati and Shukracharya as opposing teachers, and the seven weekday lords.
Surya as the soul, the father, and the source of light in the chart. His significations, his dignity and debility, and the traditional Sunday practices tied to him.
The Moon as manas — the mind — and the true centre of Vedic chart reading. The 27 lunar mansions, their spans, their lords, and the birth nakshatra.
Tithi, vara, nakshatra, yoga, karana — the five limbs of the day. Then the real divide with Western astrology: precession, ayanamsha, and the sidereal zodiac.
