Transits 2027
The big transits of 2027, with their dates.
2027 has one headline: the total solar eclipse of 2 August, one of the longest of the century, with up to 6 minutes 23 seconds of darkness. Around it, Saturn and Neptune keep working in Aries, Mars spends three months walking backwards and Jupiter moves from Leo to Virgo. Here is the year, date by date, and how to read it for yourself.
All year: Saturn and Neptune in Aries
In February 2026 Saturn and Neptune met at the very start of Aries, a meeting that happens about every 36 years. In 2027 they both stay in Aries. Saturn builds, Neptune dissolves: old dreams fade and more realistic projects take their place.
Saturn turns retrograde on 10 August and goes back from 27 to 21 degrees of Aries until 25 December. A time to consolidate, not to add more.
11 January to 2 April: Mars retrograde
Mars, the planet of action, turns retrograde at 10 degrees of Virgo and goes back to 20 degrees of Leo. It stays in Leo from 22 February to 14 May, then goes back into Virgo until 15 July. Three months to redo, repair and finish rather than start. Tempers can run short.
Until 26 July: Jupiter in Leo, then Virgo
Jupiter, the planet of growth, spends the first half of the year in Leo. It turns direct on 14 April, and from then on things move forward more openly. On 26 July it enters Virgo, where growth comes from method, health and good work.
The five eclipses of 2027
6 February: solar eclipse in Aquarius. 20 February: lunar eclipse in Virgo, the last of a series that started in 2025. 18 July: lunar eclipse in Capricorn. 2 August: total solar eclipse in Leo, visible in full from southern Spain, North Africa and Egypt. 17 August: lunar eclipse in Aquarius.
Eclipses mark beginnings and endings. Look at the house of your chart where each one falls: that is the part of life that turns a page.
Mercury retrograde in 2027
Three times: 10 February to 4 March (Pisces back to Aquarius), 11 June to 5 July (Cancer back to Gemini) and 8 to 29 October (Scorpio back to Libra). Good weeks to review, reread and reconnect. There is no Venus retrograde in 2027. Uranus stays in Gemini and Pluto in Aquarius all year.
How to turn these transits into your own prediction
A transit only means something once you know where it lands in your chart. Count from your rising sign: if you are Scorpio rising, Leo is your 10th house, so Jupiter and the August eclipse speak about your career.
Then check your profection year. If the planet that guides your year is also the one making the big transit, that transit counts double for you. This is how professional astrologers make a forecast: the theme of the year first, then the dates.
